Tabitha, send a collection plate around while Jae is preaching and announce a monetary goal. Inform the congregation that once the goal is reached, you'll disconnect Skype.
You could get a new roof out of this.
The infinite setup lines provided by your god and his fan club.
My preaching comes from God. From whence does yours spring?
Laugh now chansen.
Yes, setup lines like that where you're channeling unsafe or blackbelt are exactly what I'm talking about.Laugh now chansen.
First we do a congregational profile-to see who we are and then a job description-to see what we want and then with Conference approval post on the "portal"
Some of these churches are a 10-minute drive from my house; some are a 95-minute drive. In 3 cases, a 2-point charge is within 15 minutes of each other, and in each case, when I lead worship, the combined congregations numbers rarely meet the 50 mark. An individual has taken it upon himself to call people together to brainstorm about our difficulties. I've gone to some of the meetings, and provided input. There is suspicion from some about these meetings...claiming that all he is trying to do is get churches to amalgamate. Few ministers are getting involved. One of our churches is a beautiful historic site...and it is literally falling apart. It is way too expensive for the small congregation to fund (and they are getting some funding from various grants). But, and this is the nuts and bolts of it, there are so many good, kind, loving people working very hard to keep their particular sanctuary open. Even without a minister. Even without much of a congregation, and no one who could be considered young. Even with expensive repairs to make.Nancy, that is sad. Is the distant great between the churches?
Does anyone else think that it's a bit crazy to continue on like this, with tiny, struggling congregations entirely comprising elderly members?
