Nice. I'm a bit tired of hearing about how the millenials and younger aren't engaged politically. .

How I tend to parse that is that they are still political but don't believe in/play OUR -GENERATIONz -and- before political and social games and norms etc...things like privacy or adherence to GOP and DEMS or belief in LEFT VS. RIGHT wing and WASP work ethic...

(Kinda like an alien invasion lol or slow AGI)

We are redundant in a sense ;3 time for us fogeys to roll over to make room...lol

Pay attention to your kids. They will blow you away.

Here is someone from the latest Generation just coming into their Influence

Nice. I'm a bit tired of hearing about how the millenials and younger aren't engaged politically. Clearly, these kids are and hopefully that inspires some of their peers. My son isn't likely to do anything like this, but he certainly thinks pretty deeply about politics and participates in some ways.

When I hear about things like this I always wonder to what degree the kids' parents have motivated/pushed them to be involved.

Some, perhaps. The ones I have known, though, it's been more about following the parents' example than necessarily being pushed by the parents. The parents may provide support and advice, but are not the initiators.

That happened with me when I tried out for Katimavik...good thing the testerz noticed what I didn't :3
I also wonder whenever I see a toddler or very young person with some activist slogan or even Holy Symbol...

Good thing parents are there to keep us alive and to protect us from the harsh world until we leave the nest, our personalities and likes and character etc etc informed rather by peers* and genetics combined...

Here she is, after that performance...she’s really good! (Just saying...”generation z” is as diverse as any other, and that’s good). I like seeing that are smart, strong, confident, independent minded, creative young women still giving the finger to gender norm roles, emerging in this confusing universe, too. It’s a relief.

(Haha, she reminds me of what I looked like in the early 90s, but without the blue/green hair. I had burgundy hair for about 6 months, though - but I didn’t have her talent or confidence. Go girl!)

(I dressed like that when I was working at the club, in the coat check, where I first saw Green Day play, in fact! I still have a pair of Docs like that. That’s so funny. God, I’m old  . If she were my daughter, I’d be proud, and totally encouraging.)

It is political commentary, from one really generation concerned about the next (but coming from a different angle), in case you’re wondering. If anything...I think Billy Joe Armstrong understands the youth anxiety today better than Eric Weinstein.

Green Day led an anti-Trump chant during AMA ceremony performance (This was a spontaneous, unscripted moment Green Day didn’t have the network’s or the awards show’s permission for, but I guess it got so many views ABC kept it online).

IMO, I think Eric Weinstein seems like he’s being square and helicoptering, actually.

Ps thanks for the videos below. Children are our future. Time for you and I to roll over and let them take over. Ahhh...feels much better.

No, but I have issues with some of the IDWs subtle far right leanings...like race and gender based “IQ”... and this kid’s dad’s friends are his current inspiration. That makes me kind of sad for him - he needs to be a kid.

I suppose some might say the same that Billie Joe Armstrong inspired his kids and is still inspiring kids - from left field. I’m happy about it, though.
