They just seem to not know quintessentially Canadian animals.

Which is weird if their books come from the US because most "quintessentially Canadian" species can also be found in the States. Moose, beaver, even polar bears and caribou, live in the USA.(the latter two only in Alaska, of course). Unlike us, they don't worry about borders. In fact, I would bet that there are more American species that we don't have rather than the other way around.

Canada has wild boar and snakes (though likely different ones from Korea).

Hmm... didn't know that about the wild boar. Where can they be found in Canada? Canada has snakes but there are some kinds of snakes in Korea that are not in Canada

Christmastime has come to Korea. We hit a large mall in Suwon this afternoon. Still there. Christmas songs are playing and Christmas decorations are up.

We actually came to take our 6 year old granddaughter to a movie. Things are done a bit differently here though than in Toronto. While in Toronto kids' movies play all day at the cinema, here you have to come early enough in the day. Sadly, we missed the cut off.

We ate some caramel popcorn and right now Yobo and our granddaughter are in a kids' brick-building place. We'll return earlier tomorrow for another try at seeing a movie.

Be cautious of hu' yah bore with a dark story they can't ogre ... they'll never get through it as occult frightens those not affiliated with learning things they don't already know ... which is just about everything and everybody ... as wonkey gods!

Illusions of Met-hu's-ala ... the man in dark suit?

Boar have been seen on our SK farm. They are a major nuisance in some parts of the province. They originally escaped from farms that were raising them. They are horrible things- vicious, eat just about ANYTHING and have no fear of people.

Lots in our Northern parts of provinces, In fact, I read that they are becoming a menace and are

dangerous if encountered.

Air pollution outside Lotte Mall in Suwon today (Nov. 11). Air quality today in Suwon is unhealthy. In Seoul, even worse.20181111_145414.jpg

Can't be ... the stoic POTUS says the environment is false and laden with lions ... lyres of Ju'r Dan?

Well strung contraptions of great complexity ... to howl out down in GEO Ghia !

Sadly familiar, I am afraid. While big, international cities like Shanghai and Beijing at least try to clean up a bit, many other cities in China are abysmal in air quality. Xian was terrible last time I visited.

A great deal of the air pollution that plagues Korea comes from China.

Rather like a lot of London's comes from the US Midwest. Air currents and weather systems know no boundaries. It's why we really need international action and cooperation on air pollution issues and climate change.

Well... that or else China and America could just stop polluting so much.

That's kind of what "global action and cooperations" means, Jae. "Cooperation" would imply reduction among other things. That said, Korea's own pollution likely drifts out over the Pacific which ultimately means it affects global air quality as well. Southwestern and Southern Ontario's crap likely ends up in Quebec or New England. The problem isn't restricted to two nations so focussing on just them won't fix things in the long run.

Okay. I can agree with that. At the same time, there are nations which have been more responsible when it comes to reducing/dealing with air pollution than have others. Those that have not ought to be penalized in one way or the other.

The problem, as it has been since WWII, is how do you penalize superpowers. The US and China are pretty much immune to any kind of international action because of their vetoes on the UN Security Council. And no one, nation or bloc, wants to unilaterally sanction them because for most smaller countries, that's a recipe for economic disaster. Including us.

We consumers could stop buying things made in China and America. A small step but an existent option.

The "power is corrupt" comment is still ignored as we try to be powerful too ... thus unheard of weaker voices on the lost horizon!

We just can't sum it up or integrate ... due to differentials ... ideal individualism dominates as determinate!

As an indeterminate I just don't see anything being learned ... perhaps on another stage of the game when we see the end coming ...

I don't actually buy much made in the USA these days, but China is almost impossible to avoid. Some of the stuff we import from there simply is not made in Canada anymore. Even a lot of goods from more developed Asian countries like Japan and Korea are actually manufactured in Chinese factories due to lower overhead (Samsung, I'm lookin' at you, though I see they are now using Vietnam as well). For clothing, places like India and Bangladesh are starting to become the sweat shop of choice, so there's options there.

In the end, the reality is that all nations need to step up and focussing on the US and China without upping our own game just makes us hypocrites.
