Lotty's Balloon Adventure. One we didn't go on - because the waiting time for it was 60 minutes.

Looks like quite the place! Did you have fun?
We had a good time. It was our granddaughter's 7th birthday. I would've liked to have gone on some of the big rides - like The Big Loop and Pharaoh's Fury rollercoasters.

A few weeks ago, I was walking at night in our Suwon neighborhood. The hood is a trendy place, with 24-hour stores and restaurants. It's full of nightlife. Music is pumped out into the streets and the many people, most of them in their 20's and early 30's dig the scene.

As I was casually walking along, lost in the music and lights, an older man, I'd guess in his late 50's approached me. After saying an-nyung-ha-se-yo (hello) he asked me, "You looking friend?"

It seemed a bit of an odd question, and I'd only half-heard it due to the music and other sounds. Not knowing how to respond, I just shrugged.

"I show you," he added, pulling out his cellphone and showing me a gallery of Korean women in lingerie.

I replied, "No, no thank you," and waved my hand and shook my head to indicate no.

He looked puzzled for a moment then smiled, put his cellphone away, turned around the other way and disappeared into the night.

A lot of people were wearing surgical masks yesterday - due to a very high amount of fine pollution particles in the air. Yobo and I each bought a mask ourselves.

Though the Chinese government denies it (of course), the Koreans I speak with tell me the air pollution is coming to Korea from China. I tend to side with my Korean friends and family since China's such a huge, industrualized nation.

I note that today the air here in Seosan is 165 US AQI. That means it's unhealthy, and warnings are out to close windows, wear masks, avoid outdoor exercise and use air purifiers.

Quite likely. Most of the pollution around here actually comes from the US Midwest and our emissions end up in upstate New York or something like that. Similar situation.

Few grasp airy conditions ... too flighty!

Thus Cervantes sense of conflict and jousts ...

I remember seeing a map of who are the biggest polluters. China was first. Surprised me, because I stll had that picture of China being a vast land of mostly rice fields. But I suppose, us here buying all the cheap stuff produced in China, cheap because they don’t care about the environmental impact, at the same time exporting our garbage there under the umbrella of” recycling”, we have messed up China and don’t care, because it is far enough away.
