What does the Bible mean that we are not to judge others?

@unsafe, you picked one passage. There's a whole bible full of them, some of which disagree. We've talked about one verse in Genesis, in the story of Cain and Abel, where different translations say "thou will overcome sin" (a prediction), "do thou overcome sin" (a command) and "thou mayst overcome sin" (free will).

Also, you still haven't told me which bible? The Catholic bible? Or the Protestant one? If you go for the former, you've got Maccabbees, which gives some support to the RCC doctrine around purgatory. And you seem to be fond of the God's Word and Amplified transliterations; notice you don't refer to The Message much. If I'm trying to get to the meat of a passage, I use the NSRV, personally.

I don't actually care what position you might hold on any particular subject; what I care about is your self-declared "right"-ness. When I appear to care/probe farther, it's usually so that I can figure out if you've actually taken your positions to their logical conclusions, which are a little too often xenophobic, close-minded, and unkind, generally, IMHO.
 
Muse a bit about the unquestionable blindness! Thus a' muse in the dark ... shadowy process unthunk?

Drag it out into de light ... could be ungodly satire about brute forces ...

What you have, I think, are people who feign stupidity, gee I didn’t know which version of the bible to read. They are all so different.

Ever been to a restaurant that had an Italian or French menu to order off of? Ever get beef when you thought you ordered chicken?

The main message of the bible is repeated over and over and over with all kinds of examples so that it’s message cannot be missed.

But people do not like the message, so they say there are other interpretations.

On judgement day they will fake innocence. Your book was so unclear!!!!!!———-

But they will be “without excuse”, meaning they will try it, but God won’t buy it.

Will he???????

I think the argument is the interpretation of the message that often lacks grace and compassion.
 
One has to be determinate ... don't give an inch ... or you will expose your vulnerability ... hard shell rule makes no room for ... compassion ... we don;t understand how the hardshell deals with it! Thus turtles all the way down ... after that it all goes to mush!

"Master ... can I have some more gruel?" Life is like that ... beyond that ... mystery and myth ...

Stories may be more acceptable than the lies told us ...

So which bible is the correct bible? The Roman Catholic version with the Apocrypha? The Protestant version? Start there. I won't drag you down the rabbit hole of Eastern canons, because they're really loose-y goose-y about what's in, what's out.

Martin Luther would also have pitched The Revelation and James' letter, among others, and most of the Eastern orthodox churches have resisted The Revelation, not including it until well into the second millenia of the Common Era.

You can, and do, come up with some really different theology, just by messing with the books. Maccabees gives your purgatory, and even a little wiggle room for reincarnation.

This is what Matthew 18 says -----about Judgment on sin FOR BELIEVERS ----verse 17 is real RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT ----

Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.

16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d]

17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
