Korea is currently 14 hours ahead of Toronto. It's Wednesday, 10:19 a.m. as I post this.

Korea is 13 hours ahead of Toronto when Ontario isn't in DST. Korea doesn't do DST.

I think you're worded is backwards (though your first statement about what time it is now is correct) based on my experience with China, which also doesn't do DST. China is 13 hours on standard time and 12 hours on daylight time. So Korea should be 14 hours on standard time and 13 on DST (your "isn't " should be an "is")

...Many Korean kids don't know what moose and beavers are.
 
Are you hearing a lot of Kris Wu music? He's Chinese but trained in Korea to create the boy band Exo.
 
Education systems are weird and apparently have monstrous great holes. Most kids in Europe and North America grow up knowing about animals that live elsewhere. They show up frequently in picture books for cryin' out loud. What is going on in Korea that the kids don't know the animals?

They know many animals... Asian animals... African animals... Australian animals... the English books they use at school and at our academy are Anerican, and the kids know American animals. They just seem to not know quintessentially Canadian animals.
