Oh Mrs Anteater - that crap is still going on? So sad. Reminds me of a Youth group I battled to start (as a young teen in 1960) that the congregation continually set up hoops for us to jump through. We successfully jumped through them all and, as word was passed around, some of the 'old' Sunday School kids started attending. Then the complaints arrived - some of the congregation didn't think it was 'fitting' to have motor bikes parked outside the church hall. Thinking it made sense to keep the peace these were parked at the back. The same youngsters realised that they still enjoyed singing even though their voices had changed sine childhood. They showed up for choir practise and were welcomed. They showed up for church on Sunday morning and were welcomed
There was a letter addressed to the Youth Group sitting on a table when we entered the church hall for our regular meeting a few days later. It informed us we were closed down and this must be our last evening. Turned out the Church Ladies objected to the motor bikes neatly parked outside the church during the Sunday service. (What will the neighbours think?!!)
