It is, except for what to do with the waste. The by-product of fusion is helium.

There is a good waste system available that needs to be applied with great care and effectiveness ... not with cost cutting short corners to round out profits! The authorities will never learn to deal with it in our time!

Then today I heard a publication that toasters are source of toxin ... so I would say we're doomed considering the toast distribution ... life is generally a waste of time !

Fusion certainly is the ideal solution. BTW, I am a nuclear physicist. Fission reactors are a good interim solution and, yes, nuclear waste is a real problem. But there are sound solutions but they come with a big problem as well --- it is called NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard). NIMBY has tied the hands of solving this problem for decades.

Steel is made with coal. Under AOC’s new deal, there will be no steel so everything will be plastic. No wait, plastic is petroleum products. There will be no plastic.

Under AOC, there will be no steel or plastic or farming or fertilizer or food or cars. Just one train. Like Hunger Games really.

Everything will be made of rocks and mud. And when you get in your homemade car, you will shout Yabba Dabba Doo.
Plastic can be made without petroleum products, as Bette said. Also, there’s enough plastic in existence to be recycled for a very long time. Electric cars. We have all the technology needed for a GND to work. It just takes political will to transition...which is way too slow in manifesting since climate scientists have been warning for decades...but money is speech in the US, so...the big oil lobby used it to to discredit sound science, brainwash people into thinking that climate change denial was just an optional difference of opinion, and stall the transition to clean energy. We don’t even need beef cattle. Meat can be grown in labs...which sounds gross now (I think it sounds gross but I would try it)...but maybe once it’s common, killing cows for food will be met with even more disgust. Also, meat substitutes. Rice and beans are a complete protein - learned that in the 70s - and iron can be found in green vegetables and legumes. (I am not a vegan right now and it would inconvenience the people I live with...but I could do it, no problem...and probably will sooner rather than later.)

Also, it’s “entirely possible for airplanes to fly without fossil fuels”. Domestic high speed rail would also be an option that could cut down drastically on fossil fuel emissions.

We can have a Green New Deal, and air travel too

Arms length again ... by rites!

That's probably too simple for those trying to make the KISS Prin. more confusing so the common people won't know ... blame it on the gods, caesars and other things that stopped running and the flux collapsed!

Relax it is just a pile of word ... in some surroundings fecund for thought ... but often not as willful folks hate thoughts ... thus us long folks ... stumped!
