I've come 2 enjoy some peeps who have tried to find out for themselvez (science) aboot the roundness of the Earth :3Heh heh. That would be a different look for a lunar eclipse.
I have to say, though, I have far less sympathy for flat earthers than I do for theists. Flat earthers are explicitly rejecting thousands of years of scientific evidence. For instance, Eratosthenes, librarian of Alexandria from 245BCE until his death in 194BCE, measured the Earth's circumference and the experiment he did to accomplish clearly demonstrated it's roundness.
Theists are at least playing in a realm where science can't really prove or disprove, only rule out certain functions of the Divine. In the end, you can hold science to be a valid way of understanding existence and still adhere to at least some forms of theism (e.g. process panentheism). There is no rejection of science involved unless one insists on a literal understanding of Genesis or the miracles or other supernatural ideas.
Yeah, that's true. Though a certain amount of that is simply numbers. There are more of those certain kinds of theists than there are flat earthers. If they had enough followers to, say, change school science programs to teach Flat Earth as a legitimate alternate science theory, as those certain kinds of theists want to do with Genesis, then we might be a bit harder on them.Itz also easier to b a flat earther than certain kinds of theist imho
Enough peeps still blame certain kinds of theist for world problems...whereas flat eartherz...they're safe lol
