spring has sprung, the grass has riz...and here are the birdies

The temperature here has risen to freaky cold but bearable. A sprinkle of fresh snow and maybe more coming. I think the weather fairies should get their acts in gear. No point in giving us beautiful blue sky and sunshine for several days when it is too cold to go outside. No point in the milder temps with snow flurries and heavy cloud all day. Get a grip weather fairies!

Are weather fairies flaky? Could we fit some world leaders into the quanta?

The first picture above is the same spot as in post #283. Just a couple of days later

I have two aunts in homes in Surry (105 and 100 years old) when they used to communicate ... they would exclaim how disastrous a bit of snow was without the equipment to handle it ... a parallel to some leaders minds? Now that indicates a path less travelled, when psychopaths don't warm to the greater social support system ...

Then something has to exit the system in an exiting expletive ...

Just words given I have no power in this domain due to extraction by the brutes ...

Thought rests ... as intelligence out there ...

wowzer.

We have ice on lakes still, though it isn't hthick.
Some birds are migrating back.

Saw herons (not herrings), hawks, swans, too many canadian geese, and my husband saw turkeys.
need to get better at seeing the little birds, too

Cool. I’ve never seen wild turkeys, I don’t think.

It was a bit of a shock to the system...the last couple of weeks wearing layers in various stages throughout the day, then suddenly, it actually seemed hot out today. I wore a button down blouse and rolled the sleeves up, and long pants with ankle boots, and I was too warm - brought a light jacket to work, in my walker basket (didn’t wear it during the day), to put on later. It wouldn’t be a hot day - it’d be perfect - if this was July...but definitely a hot day for March. 12-13 is closer to normal at this time of year, I think.

Spring is here! Cool nights and warm days. Snow settlleing so we can see over the drifts. Bright sunshine the last few days. My kind of weather! Unfortunately, as Kimmio points out, it's a sign of the hot weather to come. I don't do well in hot weather.

When I was younger, I loved winter. Crisp, cold days; lots of snow for sports and play. Now I must say that I welcome spring, and look forward to some clear, dry sidewalks. Right now they are too icy and rough for walking. But I dread the thought of the hot weather.

It's above zero here, but we're supposed to get snow tonight. It's been a good maple syrup season thus far. I have to get out in the next day or two and prune my grape vines. Spring is springing, in its usual erratic Ontario way. Winter and summer bicker until summer wins.

Went for another destressing walk today after work, 11 degrees and saw two cardinals, a hawk and an eagle. The lake is still covered with ice, I was looking for turtles sitting in the sun, but they better be not out yet, because it dips well below -6 degrees at night again.

Oh, a "destressing" walk.

I thought you meant "distressing" at first, and was wondering what upset you about those birds. :giggle:

As well as pencil - eyebrow tinting seems very fashionable right now. There's all kinds of stuff. Temporary eyebrow tattoos even. My eyebrows look weird if they are too dark.

It cooled off. The breeze has been cool here for a couple of hours. But I've been 2 blocks from the ocean all afternoon.

It's up to 18 here and quite lovely.

I decided to look at wigs today. Do you think this one will suit me? View attachment 2413
I remember years ago, when I met you, thinking you look a bit like Alison Janney. That's how I picture you in my memory. She could pull of fiery redhead, too.

Been spring-y the last few days but cooler with a chance of flurries today. Supposed to be warmer again on the weekend.

It has been a crazy winter here in the Okanagan. A mild December and January, followed by a colder than average February and first half of March. The north arm of Kal Lake froze over, which hasn't happened in a long time. The past week, though, was above average, and snow and ice are melting rapidly.
