It is the song of faith that keeps me in the UCCAN. Who could argue with 11 pages of kind poetry?

I love both the Song of Faith and the New Creed. And the 1940s confession has some solid theology, too.

I relate mostly to the New Creed.

The Song of Faith is not terribly familiar to me. We took several weeks to read it section by section in church when it first came out and I have probably not looked at it since. On the original WC we had some folks who liked it a lot, I seem to recall.

I read the Song of Faith and I'll be damned if I can remember a single line. Struck me as very wordy and overly flowerly. The New Creed's simple "We are not alone, we live in God's world" is one of the best, most memorable lines of any creed I've ever seen and is a strong statement of faith on its own without any of what follows.

This is indeed the most beautiful and impactant Creed sentence ever.

I'd argue that it was more 11 pages of bad poetry.

Theologically it is the equivalent of whatever the name is for the cool-whip/pistachio pudding/crushed pineapple thing that was all the in the 80's.

Which is fine three meat and potatoes doctrinal statements and one fluffy light one make a fine meal.

You aren't alone in that assessment.
