Left wing populism

just a reminder that populism is not a dirty word, and we should not let it be subverted by the stalwarts of the status quo - to put all forms of populism in the same camp. Right wing fascist populism gaining strength today should just be called fascism. Because fascism uses populist anger to spur on projects that gut social cohesion and create such division that they have even lead to genocidal policy. Left wing populism is democratic socialism, aiming to transform public disappointment toward past systems that failed them, into action that builds a health democracy that fairly represents and advocates for the wellbeing of all without prejudice toward ethnicity, faith, gender, sexual orientation or disability. As I said on another thread - Tommy Douglas was a populist.

Jack Layton, who died just over 7 yrs ago, lest we forget, was a populist. And a social justice advocate.

Don't let it become a dirty word like what's been done to the words "social justice", in our rightward leaning post-truth "newspeak" climate. Stay reasonable. Resist that.

Layton lived the politics he believed in: party

Populis allows growth of statistics so some accountants can creatively play with the numbers ... numinous Lei!

Thus each has the imperative category ... but differing ... some think ... some don't care to ... thus many disconnections, dissociative theory, and rational Pi about regulated explosions ... sometimes not when considering flaring gods ... occurs in the most nebulous conditions that may develop nefariously ...

That's word when warped and twisted through great ages of time ... Jack! It comes up later ...

YES!
Let the brainwashing begin!

Populism should be taken with some concern and equanimity ... an act not well received by brute forces that counter ... other qualities of virtue ... of poorly received mythology (that which is beyond present intelligence)!

Realize that some see only as force as a way to burst the threatening domains of slowly sinking nebulous structures bringing on cloudy situations ... these may loam up beyond the reflective surface of Ma' mere ... her bearing Bra (or arms) to support Davidas ... a beautiful essence ... resembling ganglia that rest in peace but can be distraught by either of two types of chaos ... we leave that to your abstract that may clash with perspectives of absolute ...

The remaining after a burst of brutishness may appear as underground slippage ... or subtle learning about consequentialism ... reasons have consequence ... potentially!

One could approach Murphy for that topical perspective ... if one could ... depends on if it can happen ... if so it will ... and thus good will hunting goes on ... almost poetically but perhaps as poesy! Imagine a flood of alien word(s) ...

Thus word becomes God in some consequences ... dependant upon categories that appear to be imperative at the opportunity that may be fatalistic to some powers ...

Certain cycles can be the death of parts ... thus "not-me" BS ... fractal UNI'zen ... inclusive of Yin and Yang ...

Hi,
Let the brainwashing begin!
The brainwashing has been underway from my childhood. Government is exploiting children to promote a political agenda. This based on market research undertaken to discover what producers can sell to consumers. That is, based on the success of corporate advertising. Which has seduced children by the millions and reduced them to obese diabetics liable to heart and blood complications. Where is the outcry from those wholly dedicated to the way, truth and life revealed in God's servant Jesus by the Holy Spirit?

These are folk I was with as chaplain to the occupy community in Kamloops:

This is me having fun with members of the occupy community:

We surfaced for a short while. Then back underground. Each occupying the context of our daily living as an advocate and agent of change. When we surface next it will be a little like Gideon casting off the oppression of Midian.

PG-13, when do you wish that children should learn anything about the news? Age 18? Suddenly, no unicorns, no magic, but "the world's a right mess and it's all yours now"... I think that the CBC is performing a real service to a missed demographic.

I think Mr. Levant appears to be something of an expert at using intonation to make everyday words sound suspicious. I listened to the whole thing, which I will never do again, because, by about the second time he "whooped" the word 'kids' into sounding a lot more like 'crooks', I was irritated, and by the end of the vlog, I was ready to do violence to my speakers...

The children of God are not to know ... just read a bunch of the literature accumulated by the patriarchs of the church ... causing some irascibility to Erasmus when he complained about some aspects of God's Word that stated: "teach my children" and the numbing down continued ...

JPeterson was on Fox News saying that dangerous people are teaching our kids. The far right eats it up. JP, the free speech champion, wants to sue journalists who write critical stories about him. Their job is not to write flattering stories about him. Not escaping anyone’s notice is that he has alt right followers. He claims he doesn’t support them, yet he shares some of their talking points and puts more effort into “destroying” all those radical left feminists postmodernneomarxists who are a supposed threat to all of western civilization. Bernier is losing it on Twitter because of Wendy Mesley’s questioning about the Koch brothers, saying the public broadcaster should present all views. If she did some investigating and found out a Koch connection, she is doing her job - thank you Wendy - and reporting it is her job. Her job is not to promote his campaign. I remember when journalists were afraid to criticize conservatives, and Sun News was the “right wing” reporting arm in Canada. I believe Ezra Levant worked there too, didn’t he?

Nothing to see here. Cough.

How utterly bizarre American culture can be... That said, our own PM set off his campaign in a boxing ring.

Sometimes Americans do the weirdest things with pop culture that turn out great - if you look back at the all the eccentric influences. Other times, they bring us Trump.

This is also amusing if you can stomach the spectacular cheesy factor. ... It's is one way, quite a creative way, to get to Trumpsters on their turf. Talk about flipping the script!

Charisma shows up ... even in black and white and unseen shades!

Positive and negative charisma leads to zeros sum rule ... nothing is good and extensive so as to take a rest ... out of here and now ... an eccentric cognizance? Thus wobble to the means of trying to be aware one way or the other!

Even Jacob wrestled with an unknown god ... tempting desires to towards fore thought/prescience?

Tis a dark process sometimes called abstract just to toss the shadowy case out ... for process!

I think the sport is fake. At the same time it has a huge following...and the real person beneath the persona is using his fame to say something. Which is smart. He's subverting some Trumpian and some poltically apathetic turf where young people hang out. It might amount to nothing but it's an interesting move. I thought it belonged in the left wing populism thread.
