Okay, what follows is a spoiler for Avengers : Infinity War so stop here if you haven't seen it and hate spoilers.

    https://io9.gizmodo.com/thanos-has-snapped-his-fingers-and-killed-half-a-subred-1827448545

Explanation: At the end of the movie, the villain Thanos has gained cosmic level power by collecting the Infinity Stones. With a snap of his fingers, he causes half of all beings in the universe, including several major characters, to cease to exist. The resolution will, of course, be in the next Avengers movie.

So, the bizarre part is that a subreddit (basically a forum on Reddit) is banning half its members to simulate an event in a movie.

And thousands of new members signed up just see if they would be part of the group that gets banned.

Seen anything weird or wacky on the 'Net?

And lets keep this entertaining so no controversies, politics, religion, or Jordan Peterson.

    lol cool
and reincarnation (signing on in new pseudonym)

hmm...i was part of this internet community called PuzzleboxMUCK where we played postscarcity beings in a habitat called Puzzlebox broken into 6 different areas named after each of the Quarks and loosely organized around some themes...

we tried to include all viewpoints

our WIKI was truly an open wiki where anyone could edit even delete

so whole areas could disappear or suddenly change

how we kept out trolls is to join there was a vetting process which included ya had 2 know at least q other PBX entity...

    sadly the MUCK is gone

but it was a blast when it was going

i still have the shirt with our logo on it :3

Experiments like that are what keep the Internet interesting. If it was all trolls and flamewars, I'd have given up a long time ago.

Some are only Inuit for only the happiness and instant gratification ... as Kohl ! A chill for the desires to connect strings ... others just cut and clip ... Moira? Metalogical bliss ...

    Going down memory lane

From the old days of the internet lol (remember geocities and mindfire?)--only some 126 MB for whole site lol

This website was so much fun for me, full of tripsters and psychonauts (a term which means psychedelic investigator) and linkhounds and otherwise DIY explorers, peeps who love to play in the deep end of reality

I'm so glad someone actually made a mirror of it in 2003

Mind fire ... parallel to brainstorms when the chief head gonad overheats? Tis a darkening prospect ... like Nut in the land of imagination ... the pall fell ... like N'eros Rome ... no dedication to the underlings ... lesser Eros?

Tis a pain the unraveling ...

There are some philosophers that say the mind never dies ... just meta morphs from one metaphor to the other in a world that doesn't like to know ... so the source is a mystic oddity! With parallel worlds ...
