No Mendalla, I do not think it is a safety issue. Schools let children use scissors. (Indeed all the Kindergarten cutting is to prepare and strenghten hand for writing). and this is a grade 2 or 2/3 class.

I think the issue was the teacher wanted perfect cut out mittens and the kids may not have been perfect.

Combined with a little of "if you want to make efficient use of time, do it yourself", poor teacher...

Nor did I say it was. I suggested it may be a helicopter issue, which is more about perception than actual risk. If you do not think that's the issue, though, then that's cool.

However,

Which goes back to my Gaiman quote. You can only learn to be creative by being allowed to make creative mistakes.

Could we allow that in a pure social structure? Thus god's children are left stunned ... because we can't tell eM anything about nothing ... and what to put there ...

Does that remind you of a vacuous psyche ... ethereal to begin with? Tis a bit thin like a veil 'd non sense? ... Allah gory ... Allah Akbar Ababa .. the absolute Deus ... binary ... but bifurcated ... like A'theist ... spells vary over time ... like emotional intellect wavers ...

What would happen to the Puritans when Quaking in their boots about Eire ... that red lady ...

The kids are quite old enough to create a paper mitten unaided. One of them may think to draw around their hand - or not - it would all be good learning experience. Art isn't supposed to be just like something made by everyone else in the group!!!

I struggled mightily when my children started school. It was so different from the Brit system I was familiar with. There seemed to be almost NO appreciation of things the children could create, with teachers handing out silly outlines for the kids to colour in, sometimes even specifying the colours to use. As the kids got older Art consisted mostly of lectures and copying.
