Annual meeting after church tomorrow. We have some BIG decisions to make.[/QUOTE]

Hope it goes well, Seeler. At my mom's church's annual meeting last year, someone got up and walked out in a fit of anger. This year, the minister read scripture passages about how to get along even when there is disagreement. Our meeting is next week.

We've done some work on that potential problem by combining our Annual meeting with worship that day, so it's incorporated into the Sunday worship service, which we start half an hour early and finish with a potluck lunch. It's in the sanctuary, encourages holy manners, discourages long outbursts.

The only problem with the "seamless" worship and annual meeting approach is that it is off-putting to visitors if you have any. Maybe you can get around this by making it clear what will be happening that day . . . the sign outside and so on.

Lunch seems to go well with Annual meetings. We have our meeting in our lounge following our worship service and a potluck lunch.

My UU fellowship did that for a while but it didn't seem like people were willing to stay so we moved it to Saturday morning. Which I disliked for many reasons but it seemed to fly with others.

Absolutely; we advertise it widely, several weeks in advance, via e-mail, the electronic sign and announcements.

*Bette refreshes the little fire, puts the kettle on so that there's fresh coffee and tea, makes sure there's a little tray of chocolate and dainty cookies handy, blankets, prayer shawls, tissue boxes all handy for the needs of all friends; some soft pleasant piano music plays from a distance*

One does need to know about tending the kettle, jugs, jaerd and other riling dissonances ...

Sitting by the fire with my latest knitting project in hand, a baby sweater. My roommate from college is having her first the beginning of March and I am madly trying to get this done. Unfortunately, I've hit a bit of a snag with the sleeves not making sense.

I attended church this morning, arriving early to spend time with a small group discussing the spiritual aspects of giving.

I am looking forward to the next session which I will attend on MOnday night, as I will be away on Sunday.

It is a glorious day today in S. ontario. I hope that people are out & about

Little M is out on his first bike ride of 2017. This is the earliest that I can recall anyone in my family having their bike out. When I was in school, I know I had mine out for March Break on occasion but certainly not in February.

Hope you are feeling better now. I know the effects can linger for a while.

Thank you paradox3. Yes, I'm always left feeling powerless and with a headache. An interesting state to be preaching in. Interesting thing is, it did serve as an illustration for my sermon this morning. I preached from Acts 27 about how faith in God can put one above the storms of life.
