What I like is he gets right to the point ---no fooling around and no going round the mountain to answer the question ---he speaks with confidence and conviction ----

Same old ... same old to support something meant to be unknown ... and thus it is obscure ... occult in radical cases ... like heavy protons ... and even gold collapses!

Hmmmmmm. Interesting preaching to the choir effect at play.

Christian stands up and says the Christian religion is the right religion. Christians, by and large, agree.

I guess that settles it.

Except that it doesn't actually settle it for any who are non-Christian.

Sure, every once in a while the pure logic argument manages sway somebody into the Christian camp and we are quick to cite that as proof of the realness of the Christian religion.

When one of ours jumps ship we are just as quick to point out that they have been deceived by something false.

Replace Christian with any other faith or non-faith qualifier and the argument remains precisely the same.

Yes, I have rather more faith in the good intentions of the "non-evangelizing" sort of religion.

I have no problem with arguments that say "this is a good religion because...". I have difficulty with "this is the right religion because..." because all I can hear is overtones of "My dick is bigger than your dick!".

That was rather rude. I think a more appropriate term for religious forums is "Jesus sausage".

Can you explain how you feel he failed his argument?
I don't feel he failed, he did fail. When he said "a world few is not built on one line of argument", he failed because a christian world view is exactly built on one argument. The argument that a god exists. It is fundamental to there belief structure, if god doesn't exist then Christianity isn't true.

If God is a portion of the mind and psyche is a figment of the imagination ... what more can be said about relation of the physical body and the essential mind (something ghostly)?

Some say part stinks as it takes off ...

Here is how I see it ---there is no right Religion ---Religion is a big Farce in my view ----

There is one God and One Book ---we either believe that or we don't ------Many Religions try to say they are similar to the Religion of Christianity and their God is similar to the God of the Bible -----to me this is all a big game for many my Religion is better then your --My God is the same as Yours ---My Bible says the same as yours but just in a Different way -----etc --etc ----it is all about the Religion one trying to out due the other ---to me it is so Ridiculous ----but then that is just the way I feel about Religion that keeps people in Bondage by all their rules and Traditions that are not biblical in the first place ----

BetteThe Red ---say it best for me with her comment above ------ Religions compares -----not sure I would use these exact words but it brings the point home for me ----

Her comment here ----...". I have difficulty with "this is the right religion because..." because all I can hear is overtones of "My dick is bigger than your dick!"
