OK, let me get this straight. A few months ago the man who would be king (MWWBK) imposed a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum on both China and Canada on the basis of "national security". In the case of Canada this is completely ludicrous. But it gets worse. There are exemptions to the tariff. China has received an exemption on 40% of its steel and 86% of its aluminum. For Canada the figures are 2% and 1%. What the fuddle duddle is going on?

It's the metaphorical steel wall on the northern border:) one way or another he's determined to have some kind off "wall"!

Like that metaphor ... kind of the paradox that leaves some in mystery ... as eliminated from thought!

If the US doesn't consider Canada ... will Canada go away? Ripe for pickup of rotten fruit?

An incompetent buffoon with a fetish for strongman politics is supported in a two-party system by a party that doesn't give a damn about how tarriffs hurt Americans in the long run and who are so out of touch with the American public that the only way to motivate their voting base is to play to fears or non-whites taking jobs and such.

Does strongman fall into the corrupt power syndrome as suggested by Lord Acton? It is said the powers of suggestion are something abstract ... that one can grow with ... cultivation?

There was a renegotiation of NAFTA.
Trudeau first said the new deal would be built around women’s rights.

He then found out he was out of his league. Ran away, and Mexico and the US made a deal and then he reluctantly came back at the last hour to sign something that contained nothing for Canada.

Trump is not in it for Canada. Neither was Trudeau.

Steel is made with coal. Under AOC’s new deal, there will be no steel so everything will be plastic. No wait, plastic is petroleum products. There will be no plastic.

Under AOC, there will be no steel or plastic or farming or fertilizer or food or cars. Just one train. Like Hunger Games really.

Everything will be made of rocks and mud. And when you get in your homemade car, you will shout Yabba Dabba Doo.

Steel is made with heat. Heat does not need to come from burning fossil fuels.

Plastic doesn't have to come from petroleum. Corn makes good plastic; hemp probably does as well.

Under AOC, there will be no steel or plastic or farming or fertilizer or food or cars.

Humus/compost/natural fertilizers like nettle 'tea' (what a stink, lol) are all fertilizers. Petroleum products are not required.

Not sure if sol,ar energy will be hot enough to make steel, but maybe we will be makig cars out of sugar cane some day, which would also help with the garbage problem.

I suspect that "fusion" energy will be a huge part of the future of energy. It's what powers the sun...

Undoubtedly fusion power will eventually be a reality but in the meantime we have fission power plants that are safe and efficient. The Canadian "CANDU" system is extremely safe.

It is, except for what to do with the waste. The by-product of fusion is helium.
